Love in Focus
At The Diamond Guys, the most rewarding part of what we do is learning the stories. It's getting to sit across from someone who is nervous and excited and completely in love, and helping them find the piece that says everything they can't quite put into words. Our diamond consultant Catalina had the joy of working with Jansen and Trang, and from the very first visit, it was clear this was a love story worth celebrating. We are so honored to have played a small part in their moment. Here is their story.
The Proposal
Jansen proposed to Trang in Maui, Hawaii — the island where he was born and raised — and it could not have been more perfectly him.
The two had been together for three years when they planned a family vacation near Thanksgiving. It would be the first time both of their families met, and Trang's best friend and her boyfriend had joined the trip too.
Jansen and his brother organized a big family photo session for everyone, and Trang didn't think twice about it — her mind was happily preoccupied just being around everyone she loves. At the very end of the session, with his brother behind the camera, Jansen got down on one knee and asked the big question. They celebrated right after with a luau.
"It was the proposal of my dreams. I could not have prayed for better."
"Our proposal felt like pure magic. It was such a rush of all the best feelings — I've always felt something so special with Jansen that I never thought I'd be lucky enough to have. The cherry on top was having both of our families AND my best friend there to witness it. To be honest, I was in disbelief when I saw him down on one knee — and I still can't believe I get to marry my person. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend."
The Ring
The ring is a perfect reflection of their story — and of just how well Jansen knows her.
He was actually the one who first suggested they go ring shopping together. Working alongside Catalina, he already knew [Name] had always dreamed of a marquise diamond set in six prongs — but he added a detail that made it entirely their own: the top and bottom prongs gently shaped into graceful V's, a little flourish she never would have imagined, but now can't imagine living without.

What makes their love story so beautiful goes beyond the proposal — it's everything they've quietly built together every single day.

There's an endless list of things Trang is excited about for their future — the travel, building their dream home, and all that jazz. But at the very top of her list is watching Jansen become a dad someday. "Being the person he is, I know he'll be the absolute best."
And as excited as she is for what's ahead, she's just as deeply in love with the chapter they're living right now.
